The Drama Group act out re-tellings of Bible stories and themes in short sketches with the aim of entertaining whilst presenting a memorable message. Drama can be a very effective way to get a point across, capturing people's imagination and reinforcing the words of a sermon. And for those of us acting it's great to be so actively involved in the life of the church and have an excuse to dress up and play with props! Even the most serious dramas usually dissolve into unprofessional laughter during rehearsal!

To whom it may concern,
My name is Noorganah Robertson. I am a film student currently in my second year at the Arts Institute, Bournemouth and am making mocumentary (a short fiction film short in the style of a documentary) which will be shot over 2 days.
I am writing to you as I am looking to find and prepare 2-3 actors to be able to improvise these roles and was wondering if you could forward this message to anyone studying the Performing Arts courses you offer would be interested. I am unable to offer paid roles, but food and travel expences will be provided as well as giving these actors an oppertunity to work on a film. I am looking for 2 males aged between 16-28 and either a male or female also aged 16-28 Rehersals commencing around January 9 and taking place every day or every other day with the film shoot to take place on January 14 & 15.
The film is about a young man who is a student at the Arts Institute, who has recently made a decision to become an Evangelical Christian who spends his lunch times on a cake stall preaching the teachings of Jesus until he is challenged by a few other students (also actors) about his reasons for turning to Christianity.
Gradually, the troubled background of the student is revealed, that he used to self harm, be a drug addict and had little direction or future once the layers of his blind faith in Christian doctrines is stripped away.
The actors need not be christians though a little knowledge of the religion would help during rehersals. To tell you a little about myself: I am 23 years old and orignally from london where I studied Directing Actors at Raindance, an independent film network in london where I learnt some of my skills as well as discovering Judith Weston, an ardent acting coach whose techniques in teaching directors how to work with and communicate with actors in order to get genuine performances from them has been the basis of my work in film making. I am currently studying Keith Johnstone's method of Impro to further these skills and techniques.
Anyway think I have rambled on for long enough. I hope you are able to help or if not could you recommend other places I may try?
Kind regards,
Noorganah Robertson
